Curriculum Development Specialist

Responsibilities
In order to ensure the success of the USAID Tunisia BRCP II and fulfill EFE-Tunisie’s responsibilities under the work plan, the Curriculum Development Specialist will lead efforts to reform and tailor 14 curricula to more closely align with market demands through the following activities and responsibilities:
• Engage with university and college faculty members, Career and Certification Competence Center (4C) staff, and prominent regional firms with hiring potential to secure participation in curriculum reform.
• Review regional market assessments and results of focus group discussions with local businesses to identify workforce skill gaps and market needs.
• Assess existing content and materials to determine where new curricula or amendments are required and develop sequencing plan to fulfill project needs.
• Lead instructional design of market demand-driven curriculum using a pedagogical approach that emphasizes participation and critical thinking.
• Develop a Training of Trainers (ToT) program to certify faculty and staff at the participating centers of higher education and 4Cs to deliver the new curriculum using a participatory approach.
• Pilot new curriculum and collect initial feedback from master trainers, private sector, and public sector regional representatives. Validate content and delivery method and make corrections before implementing on a larger scale.
• Work with master trainers, private sector partners, and educational institutions to monitor curriculum implementation and collect feedback. Update and make alterations to curriculum as necessary based on feedback.
• Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
The Curriculum Development Specialist must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in education or related field preferred.
• At least six to ten years of experience in education or education-related programming, including creating, distributing, and monitoring curriculum.
• Proven capacity to design and develop curricula and training materials.
• Knowledge of e-learning and using learning management system platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), resourcefulness, flexibility.
• Full professional proficiency in French and English languages required; Arabic proficiency strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working with USAID and other USG funders.
• Familiarity with Tunisia and the economic context of Tunisia.
